*FTR HELPED BAYLEY UNDERSTAND TAG TEAM WRESTLING*
-In eight years time, Bayley has surpassed expectations in WWE. Whether it was becoming the first-ever women’s Grand Slam Champion, to jumpstarting the women’s tag team division by becoming its inaugural and two-time champion with Sasha Banks, or holding down the company during uncharted times by creating a new form of entertainment during the pandemic/ThunderDome era, “The Role Model” promises there’s a lot left in the tank when it comes to shattering the glass ceiling in not just women’s wrestling but in WWE.
“I still have so much that I want to do,” Bayley stated on Oral Sessions with Renee Paquette. “So, I got signed when I was 23. I’ve been here for at least eight years now. My first eight days there, I thought I wasn’t going to last cause I was homesick already. It was way too hard, and it wasn’t what I thought it was going to be. It just felt weird. Like, I wasn’t connecting to it.
“Now, I’ve been here for eight years, and I have been able to literally do everything and more than I ever wanted to do. But there’s still so much that I feel like I need to do to feel complete with everything here, especially starting a new character. It feels like I just started over.”
-Speaking further about her two-time tag team title run with Banks, Bayley believes WWE can do more and risk more for the women’s tag team division.
“I still feel like there’s so much more they can do with the tag division,” she stated. “We had so much fun in our second run because that was what we really wanted to do, and I wish it could have gone on longer – just to be a couple of idiots on every single show. I wish we could have done NXT and Raw more. That was how we wanted the tag titles to be represented. Now, they have them in NXT. It’s awesome. We were on house shows every week, and we’d get thrown in tag matches just to get everyone on the show. We just did a tag match, but we never learned the psychology of tag team wrestling.”
-Thanks to AEW’s dominant tag team FTR (fka as The Revival) Bayley and Banks grasped a deeper understanding of how tag team wrestling worked, which would rub off throughout their title reigns.
“We never really learned the psychology of tag team wrestling, and once we did that like we sat down with Dax [Wheeler] and Cash [Harwood] – so hard to call them that now. Once we sat and learned from them and just watching their matches, I really fell in love with it,” she mentioned. “So it made me want to fight for [the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship] even more. It also gives something for all the girls to do because you can’t always go after the women’s titles.
“[FTR] would make us watch Arn [Anderson] and Tully [Blanchard] all the time. I’d be like, ‘Hey, can I have a match that I should study?’ Just for the basis of the storytelling. So you can tell by watching a tag match that you get beat up for a long time, and you’re just working for that big tag because you wanna see all the fireworks happen and all that stuff. But they would teach us how much you can tease that and make the people anticipate it or think that it’s gonna happen. Or make it happen, but then you, all the fireworks start, and then something happens to where it’s like, ‘Oh no, it’s not the end of the match? I thought it was.'”
*LOGAN PAUL REVEALS HIS WRESTLEMANIA 37 STATUS*
-YouTube star, actor and podcast host Logan Paul has confirmed that he will be at WrestleMania 37.
-Paul confirmed on a recent episode of his “Impaulsive” podcast that he will be present for WWE’s Grandest Stage of Them All. Paul was talking with his co-hosts about upcoming travels when he confirmed the two appearances for WWE.
“Tampa – WWE, Miami – train with Jake, back to Tampa for WrestleMania – WWE,” Paul said.
-Paul will be appearing on this week’s SmackDown on FOX episode for Sami Zayn’s Red Carpet Premiere of the trailer for his conspiracy documentary. That episode was already taped. Paul noted that he will then visit brother Jake Paul in Miami to help him train for his April 17 fight against former UFC star Ben Askren, and then return to Tampa for WrestleMania 37.
-There’s no word yet on what Paul will be doing at WrestleMania, but the Sami vs. Kevin Owens match is currently scheduled to take place on Night Two. It remains to be seen if Paul will be in one of their corners, or working some sort of special referee or enforcer role, but he is Sami’s guest for the trailer premiere tomorrow night.
*MAN FINED $81 FOR CYBERBULLYING HANA KIMURA*
-The Washington Post recently reported that an Osaka man has been charged and fined for cyberbullying Hana Kimura. The man was fined 9,000 yen ($81) for sending several messages to Kimura prior to her death.
-The messages including comments declaring Kimura had an “awful personality” and also writing “when will you die?” According to Japanese media, he has apologized to the Kimura’s family. However, many fans see the punishment as too lenient.
-Kimura received the threats and bullying messages following an episode of “Terrace House: Tokyo” where she was portrayed as rude and aggressive towards a housemate who had damaged her wrestling gear.
-Hana’s mother, Kyoko, has for months called on the network, Fuji TV, to take some responsibility in its role in her daughter’s death. She filed a claim that a human rights violation occurred and requested better aftercare for contestants.
-The Japan Times have reported that the human rights committee of the Broadcasting Ethics & Program Improvement Organization found that while Fuji TV has “problems in terms of broadcasting ethics” and had paid insufficient attention to the physical and mental well-being of cast members, no human rights violation had taken place.
-Hana’s mother was disappointed by the verdict, and in a statement she said, “I hope that Fuji Television reevaluates how they produce programs and not see people as mere pawns but treat them with care as actual individuals.”
-The network said it took the media watchdog’s decision “seriously” while adding that it would “make efforts to tackle social media related issues.”
-Hana’s mother has recently launched an anti-cyberbullying nonprofit organization. She is appealing to the government to help victims of slander and libel and wants social media etiquette taught at every level of schooling.

-The last Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal was held in 2019 at WrestleMania 35, with Braun Strowman getting the win. The match was not held last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. -It looks like there will not be a WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal this year. That match was also not held in 2020 due to the pandemic. The inaugural winner was Naomi at WrestleMania 34 in 2018. Carmella won in 2019.
*ETHAN PAGE ON HOW AEW DIFFERS FROM IMPACT WRESTLING*
-Recent new addition to AEW, “All Ego” Ethan Page was recently on Insight with Chris Van Vliet where he discussed his time in AEW so far and his departure from IMPACT Wrestling. Page made his debut at AEW Revolution, and he reflected on his surprise debut.
“I was trying to explain it to my wife because it’s been… I mean I’ve known for a while but I’m still on this weird high,” Page admitted. “Now I debuted on a pay-per-view. I’ve had my Dynamite debut. But I still can’t comprehend that I’ve finally been able to achieve my dream.
“Because it’s like you’re one step closer, one step closer, one step closer. I’ve never actually made it to the point where I had envisioned from when I was a kid. I don’t even know how to digest it or comprehend that it’s happened. It’s great obviously, but I can’t explain it.”
-Page then revealed who knew about his debut. He also revealed his family’s reaction to his AEW debut.
“Nobody knew I was debuting other than my parents. So they got the pay-per-view at their house and threw a little pizza party,” Page said. “My daughter is there, my wife is there. They made an AEW cake with the world title on it, they all wore my T-Shirts. But I think for my dad to see Jake the Snake clothesline me on a pay-per-view is the most full circle moment, because my dad is the one that introduced me to wrestling. We would watch in the early 90’s. Taking that line from Jake was cool for me, but I can’t imagine how cool it was from my father.”
-Page was asked how AEW differs from IMPACT Wrestling. Page explained how overwhelming his AEW journey has been in just a short amount of time.
“The exposure is like nothing else. The reach that AEW has around the world is like nothing else,” Page stated. “I’m going to bring my wife up a lot because she has been on this crazy journey to get to this point and has trusted blindly that I would find a way to make it happen. But I talk to her about this all the time, and she was blown away by the fact that locally in my hometown of Hamilton Ontario, I made the cover of the sports section of our newspaper.
“Family members mildly scoffed at the fact I’m a professional wrestler and now they’re like ‘wow, congratulations. I’m so proud of you, been bragging about you.’ I think there’s an undeniable amount of reach and exposure and importance of AEW in the sports entertainment world.”
-During the time when Page’s IMPACT contract was expiring, Wrestling Inc. exclusively reported that WWE and AEW were in talks with Page. Page discussed AEW’s interest in him in 2019 as well.
“I know there was definitely interest, but at the time I was under contract with IMPACT, so it wasn’t really a possibility,” Page noted. “But yes, I was, I guess, spoken, to see what my situation was. But me personally, I’m very glad with the way it played out and getting to have those years with IMPACT Wrestling.
“It was an experience that I kind of needed, to grow personally and professionally. It’s like to get those reps in, to get comfortable being on television, timing, cues all that stuff. It made me a better performer in the end. I think AEW will benefit from that now that I did have those experiences.”

*TAYA VALKYRIE GETTING NEW RING NAME?*
-It looks like Taya Valkyrie is set to make her WWE NXT debut on the first episode after next week’s two-night “Takeover: Stand and Deliver” event.
-This week’s Takeover go-home edition of NXT on the USA Network featured a series of vignettes where a Pomeranian dog was seen running through the Capitol Wrestling Center at the WWE Performance Center. The dog finally ran up to a woman in boots. The only part of the woman shown was her boots, but it said she would be coming on April 13, which is the first NXT episode to air in the new Tuesday night timeslot on the WWE Network. The final part of the vignette featured writing on the screen that said “Franky” will see us soon.
-We noted earlier this month how WWE filed to trademark the “Franky Monet” name for general pro wrestling and sports entertainment use. It looks like this will be the name of the “Franky” teased in tonight’s promo.
-Fans online noticed that the dog used in the vignette is Presley, one of the pets owned by Valkyrie and her husband, WWE RAW Superstar John Morrison. They have an Instagram account for both of their dogs, Presley and Bowie, at @thepeeboyz. Taya has carried Presley at various wrestling shows in the past, including for a few Impact Wrestling appearances.
-There is some online speculation that Valkyrie will use another name, and that the dog will go by the “Franky” name but that has not been confirmed, and it’s more likely that Valkyrie’s new ring name in NXT will be Franky Monet.
-Valkyrie is a former Impact Knockouts Champion and a former three-time AAA Reina de Reinas Champion. She debuted for Impact in September 2017 and left in January of this year, leaving the company as the longest-reigning Knockouts Champion in history. Valkyrie signed with WWE in mid-February and reported to the WWE Performance Center to begin training in late February.
-There is no word yet on what WWE has planned for Valkyrie, but stay tuned as we will keep you updated.
*AEW STAR RECEIVES STITCHES AFTER DYNAMITE*
-The Pinnacle’s Dax Harwood had to get stitched up after this week’s brawl with the Inner Circle.
-While MJF gave gifts to his new stable in the dressing room that was previously used by Inner Cricle, Chris Jericho and his guys were standing close by for an ambush. The Pinnacle got completely destroyed as the brawl went in all directions of Daily’s Place.
-Santana and Ortiz ended up outside with FTR as they threw Dash Wheeler into an ice bath. Both Santana and Ortiz had blood all over them and it was due to the wound from Harwood’s head.
-After Dynamite ended, AEW posted a video (without any audio) of Harwood getting multiple stitches to close up the wound.
-Harwood also posted some photos with the caption, “There’s one rule of gang fighting; they send one of yours to the hospital, you send one of theirs to the morgue.”
*TWO STARS RETURN FROM INJURY ON AEW DYNAMITE*
-Kris Statlander and Trent returned from injury on AEW Dynamite.
-The main event of the show was an Arcade Anarchy Match featuring Miro and Kip Sabian vs. Orange Cassidy and Chuck Taylor. Part-way through the match, Penelope Ford got involved, but was quickly put down when Kris Statlander popped out of an arcade machine and attacked her.
-Statlander has been out of action since last June with an ACL tear.
-Near the end of the match, a familiar van approached Daily’s Place with Trent jumping out of it. After getting a kiss from his mom, Sue, Trent joined the fight and went right at Miro — the man who put him on the shelf. Trent has been away since December due to a partially torn pec.
-Taylor powerslammed Sabian off the stage and through some tables to pick up the pinfall victory for his team.
*WWE EDITS ANOTHER INFAMOUS SEGMENT FROM THE ATTITUDE ERA*
-The infamous DX parody of The Nation of Domination from the July 6, 1998 WWE RAW episode has been remove from the WWE Network.
-That segment saw DX members dress as members of The Nation of Domination to mock them as the two stables were feuding at that time during The Attitude Era.
-While this RAW episode has not migrated to Peacock yet, the segment has been removed from the episode as WWE and Peacock continue to review & remove controversial WWE content from the past.
-The SummerSlam 1998 pay-per-view featured a video package for The Rock vs. Triple H and that video included clips from the DX parody segment on RAW. That video has been removed from the pay-per-view, which is available on Peacock and the WWE Network.
-As we’ve noted, Peacock recently confirmed that they were reviewing all 17,000 hours of WWE Network content to ensure it aligns with their standards & practices of 2021. WWE has been helping with the review process, and is being made aware of all edits. The edits are being made on the WWE Network standalone app and Peacock, which means international users are also being affected.
-The content edits were first revealed after it was confirmed that two infamous moments were removed from the WWE library after the Peacock launch for viewers in the United States back on March 18. The Survivor Series 2005 segment with WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon, John Cena and WWE Hall of Famer Booker T, where Vince dropped the N-word to Cena, was removed from the library. The WrestleMania 6 match between Bad News Brown and WWE Hall of Famer Roddy Piper was also removed. This match saw Piper wrestle with half of his body painted black, after he cut promos in blackface in the build to the match.
-WWE and Peacock still expect to have the WWE library available for viewing on-demand in time for SummerSlam in late August.
*BATISTA SAYS A RECENT WWE RAW CREATIVE DECISION WAS BAD FOR BUSINESS*
-Former WWE Champion Batista took to Twitter today and called WWE out for breaking up The Hurt Business.
-As noted, Monday’s RAW saw MVP and WWE Champion Bobby Lashley kick Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander out of the group. Batista reacted on Twitter today and said the decision was bad for business.
“Let’s try this again! WHO in their right mind would break up the #HurtBusiness already? Answer: NO ONE!!! [man shrugging emoji] #SMFH #BadForBusiness,” he wrote.
-There are no responses from Lashley, MVP, Benjamin or Alexander as of this writing.
-We noted this morning how MVP announced that The Hurt Business lives on as he and Lashley are interested in worthy applicants. He also confirmed that King Baron Corbin has not joined the group after helping Lashley attack Drew McIntyre on RAW.
*WALTER ON HIS WWE FUTURE AFTER TAKEOVER*
-WWE NXT UK Champion WALTER recently spoke with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated to promote tonight’s go-home NXT show and next week’s two-night “Takeover: Stand and Deliver” event, where he will defend against Tommaso Ciampa on Night One. WALTER said the match with Ciampa is an exciting one, and he believes it will be a very intense battle. He was asked what excites him the most about the match.
“I think it’s an exciting matchup,” WALTER said. “Tommaso is a very intense wrestler, and the story behind it is very interesting. A couple years ago, Tommaso was the guy in NXT. We present ourselves similarly; he presented himself then like I do now.
“There was no question that Tommaso was the guy in NXT. Now he’s challenging me. I’m looking forward to a very intense competition, and I think it’s going to be exciting to watch.”
-Regarding his main NXT brand future, WALTER indicated that he will return to NXT UK after Takeover. As he has been in the past, he indicated that he is open to traveling back to the United States in the future. He has previously said he is not interested in moving to the United States permanently. WALTER was asked if we will see him on a more consistent, if not weekly, basis after Takeover.
“My commitment right now is NXT UK. I am the NXT UK champion. Until that changes, I won’t think about the future. I’m very open to travel. That’s what wrestlers do. We’ll see what is going to happen,” he said.
-WALTER continued when asked about possibly going for the NXT Title and current champion Finn Balor. He confirmed that there were plans for a Balor vs. WALTER match before the COVID-19 pandemic hit.
“We have never wrestled before. It’s definitely one of the matches I am very motivated to have,” WALTER continued. “Especially right now, this is the best Finn Bálor I’ve ever seen. The way he carries himself, the way he carries the company, it’s fantastic. His title reign, that’s what a title reign should look like. His title matches, that’s what title matches should look like.
“We were supposed to wrestle before the pandemic started, but we got interrupted. It’s a match I would like to have. The circumstances, whether he is NXT champion or whether I will be NXT UK champion, I don’t know, but it is a match I would like to have happen.”
-WALTER was also asked about a possible main roster run and if there are any RAW or SmackDown Superstars that pique his interest.
“Every time I watch, Daniel Bryan sticks out to me. Cesaro is one of the matches I want to have, Drew McIntyre as well,” he said.
*ORANGE CASSIDY MAKES AN ANNOUNCEMENT AFTER AEW DYNAMITE*
-Orange Cassidy has confirmed that Kris Statlander is now a part of his stable that also consists of Chuck Taylor and Trent, aka Best Friends.
-After AEW Dynamite went off the air, Cassidy wrote on Twitter, “The alien sits with us now.”
-Statlander and Trent returned from injury during the main event of tonight’s Dynamite featuring Miro and Kip Sabian vs. Cassidy and Taylor.
-Midway through the Arcade Anarchy Match, Statlander popped out of an arcade machine to attack Penelope Ford. Towards the end of the match, a familiar van – driven by Sue – approached Daily’s Place and Trent joined the fight as well. Trent immediately went after Miro, who put him on the shelf last year.
-The match ended when Taylor powerslammed Sabian off the stage and through tables to pick up the pinfall victory for his team.
-While Trent had been away since December due to a partially torn pec, Statlander suffered a torn ACL last June.
